What are the accepted methods of payment?

Accepted Answer

For single washes, we accept all major credit cards, cash, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Monthly memberships are billed to a major credit card, and paid-in-full memberships can be paid by card or cash. We’re unable to accept corporate fleet cards at this time.

Do I remain in my vehicle the whole time?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you’ll stay in your car for the entire tunnel wash. When you exit, we invite you to use our complimentary vacuums so your car shines inside and out.

Will you clean the interior of my car?

Accepted Answer

We’re an express car wash, so we focus on a thorough exterior clean rather than interior detailing. On your way out, you’re welcome to use our free vacuums — just ask a team member for a token before or after your wash. We also keep interior detail kits on hand for $5.

Do you hand towel-dry cars?

Accepted Answer

We finish every car with a spot-free rinse and powerful air dryers rather than hand-drying, which you’ll typically find at full-service washes. Your car comes out clean and dry, and we always encourage you to use our free vacuums for a quick touch-up. Microfiber towel kits and interior detail kits are available right at our kiosks.

How do your vacuums work?

Our self-serve vacuums are free with any car wash or membership — just ask a team member for a token on your way into the tunnel, or catch us afterward. Not washing today? You’re welcome to use them on their own for $1.00 per 5 minutes (quarters). We have 6 vacuums available 24/7, rain or shine.

What’s the fingernail rule?

A simple rule of thumb: if you’d need a fingernail to scrape something off your car, our brushes won’t lift it in a single pass either. The good news — with a wash club membership, dirt and bugs never get the chance to bake on, so the more often you wash, the better your car looks. We also pre-spray every vehicle before the tunnel to loosen grime and protect your paint.

Do you have a basic wash like other car washes?

Not the stripped-down kind you’ll find on most menus. We retired our old basic wash (once our $6 wash) back in 2021 — because we decided undercarriage and high-pressure cleaning are simply too important to leave out. So rather than a bare-bones option, every Star Brite wash starts with real power built in.

We hand-built our 360° high-pressure system to blast water under and all around your vehicle across five zones on every visit: undercarriage, wheels, doors, windows, and hood & roof.

Fun fact — our entry-level Shimmering Star is what most other washes call their mid-tier wash. In other words, even our starting wash is a step above.

What are your operating hours?

Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

As an outdoor express wash, our hours shift with the weather — we typically close during steady rain or snow, and may open late or close early on unsettled days.

What types of vehicles cannot go through the tunnel?

Accepted Answer

Most vehicles are welcome, but a few can’t safely go through our tunnel:

Dually (dual-rear-wheel) trucks — too wide for the track
Vehicles over 7’7” tall
Tires wider than 13” (won’t fit the conveyor track)
Vehicles caked in excess mud
Vehicles with bike racks or aftermarket add-ons
Ford Raptors

We may also turn away vehicles with heavy rust, damage, or certain aftermarket parts, at the team’s discretion. If you’re ever unsure about your vehicle, just ask a team member before you enter — we’re happy to take a look.

Will my tire fit in the wash?

Accepted Answer

Our conveyor track fits most standard tire sizes. Very wide tires — roughly over 13” — may not fit the track. If your vehicle has oversized or aftermarket tires, stop by and we’ll check before you enter. Vehicles that typically don’t fit include Ford Raptors, dually (dual-rear-wheel) trucks, and H1 Hummers.

Will my vehicle fit in the tunnel?

Our tunnel has a 7’7” height clearance and fits the vast majority of vehicles. A few won’t fit — Ford Raptors, conversion vans, dually (dual-rear-wheel) trucks, and H1 Hummers. Not sure about yours? Stop by and our team will take a look based on your vehicle’s size and any add-ons. And yes — we can wash limos!

Can my car go through with a rack?

For the safety of your vehicle and others in the tunnel, we’re unable to wash vehicles carrying:

Bike or wheelchair racks
Roof or travel carriers
Items in the truck bed
Loose or damaged parts

Please remove these items before your visit. There are some exceptions — check with a team member and we’ll let you know if we can wash you.

Why do I have to clean out my uncovered truck bed?

We’re here to clean your vehicle — not to clean it out. Loose debris can interfere with our equipment and plumbing, and it can become a hazard to the car behind you if it flips out or gets caught in the brushes. And at the drying stage, our powerful air dryers will lift anything left in an uncovered bed right out (picture a tornado at the finish line).

We’ve been doing this for over 30 years and have seen it all. Please empty and clear out your truck bed, or cover it, before entering — otherwise we may have to turn you away. Not sure? Ask an attendant before your visit.

Is my truck's bed cover safe?

Accepted Answer

Most tonneau covers are safe to go through the wash as long as they’re properly secured. Please check all your latches and connections before entering to avoid damage inside the tunnel. If your bed isn’t covered, it must be completely clear so nothing can catch on our equipment or lift out during drying.

Is my soft top or convertible safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We wash convertibles and soft-top Jeep Wranglers all day long. Just make sure everything is latched, connected, and in good working order before you get in line. If your soft top is torn, taped, or coming apart, you’re not out of luck — see an attendant first and we can turn off the air dryers to avoid further damage and still get you a great wash. Please check with our team before entering so we can program the wash correctly for you.

How is tire shine applied?

Tire shine is applied automatically inside the tunnel at the drying stage — you’ll see the tire shine sign light up as it’s being applied.

Why did my membership rate change?

Accepted Answer

If you’re signing back up and the price looks different than you remember, here’s what’s going on. When a plan lapses — most often when a card declines — or when someone cancels and later comes back, it re-enrolls at our current pricing, the same rate anyone joining today would pay. Once a plan has ended, we’re not able to bring an old rate back.

The honest truth: the cost of everything that goes into a great wash — water, premium soaps and waxes, equipment, and a well-trained team — keeps climbing. The one thing we’ll never do is cut corners on your wash just to keep an old rate on life support. Current pricing is what keeps the wash spotless, the equipment running like new, and things fair for everyone who rolls through our lanes. And to be clear, we’re not raising prices on anyone — as long as a membership stays active it keeps its original rate; it’s only re-enrollment that resets.

Because honestly, it’s still a genuine deal — this isn’t a faceless chain. We’re a family with deep roots in the car wash industry who just want to run a great wash and take good care of you. Your support is what lets us keep doing this the right way, for as long as we can — instead of becoming another cookie-cutter chain like the ones on every corner. How does your monthly program work?

Our monthly plans cost about the same as two single washes — or less. Once you’re signed up, we register your license plate and vehicle so you’re recognized automatically: no sticker, no app. Just pull into any drive-thru lane and the system grants you access — you’re prepaid, so you simply drive up and wash. How many times can I wash with a membership?

Registered vehicles can wash once a day, every day of the month. We’re open daily except during rain, snow, or major holidays — check our live wash status at live.starbritecw.com for closures and delays.

How do I register my vehicle for a wash pass?

How do I change my credit card used for my membership?

Got a new card or expiration date? You can update it quickly and securely on our Change Credit Card page, and we’ll email you a confirmation once it’s set. You’re also welcome to stop by in person and a team member will update your card on file.

Can I use my membership for multiple vehicles?

We’d be honored to give all your vehicles that Star Brite shine. Each additional vehicle is billed monthly at the single-vehicle rate for your wash level:

Shimmering Star: $12/month
Shining Star: $17/month
Shooting Star: $20/month

A few details: all vehicles must be on the same wash level, each is billed separately, and each gets its own wash pass. Add a vehicle to your membership here.

Can I transfer my membership to a different vehicle?

Absolutely — vehicles change all the time. Just let us know so we can register the new vehicle’s license plate. Update your vehicle here and we’ll have it ready for your next visit, or stop by in person and we’ll update your account on the spot.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can cancel online here (the quickest option), in person at our facility, or by calling us at 215-550-7827. Please cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date to avoid that charge. Note that we’re unable to issue refunds for past billing cycles.

Do you have a referral program?

Accepted Answer

We do — and thank you for spreading the word! When a friend joins, have them mention your name or account. Once they renew into their second month, you’ll receive a free month of service on your primary vehicle. There’s no limit, so keep the referrals coming!

How do I pay for my membership?

The credit card you use at signup is automatically charged each month, on a simple monthly schedule. We take your privacy and payment security seriously. You can pause or cancel anytime here.

When will I be billed for my membership?

Accepted Answer

You’re billed each month on the anniversary of your signup date. For example, if you sign up on October 12, your next charges fall on November 12, December 12, January 12, and so on.

I ripped my sticker off, why am I still being charged?

Accepted Answer

Removing your windshield sticker doesn’t cancel your membership — your plan stays active until you cancel it. Your vehicle is recognized by license plate now, so the sticker isn’t needed either way. To cancel, you can do so online here, in person, or by calling 215-550-7827. Please cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date, and note we can’t refund past cycles.

Can I get monthly receipts for my records or reimbursement?

How do I use a gift card?

Wonderful — thanks for choosing Star Brite! Visit us at the County Line Plaza shopping center; the drive-thru lanes are near the center of the plaza by the 3-way stop sign. Pull into any lane and select the wash you’d like. At the payment screen, swipe your gift card as directed, and press “Print Receipt” if you’d like to see your remaining balance. Need a hand? Press the black HELP button and a team member will come right over.

How do I check a gift card balance?

You can check your balance online here, by visiting our location, or by giving us a call. Please have your gift card number ready.

Can I apply a gift card balance to a membership?

Yes — gift card balances can be applied toward a fully prepaid 3-, 6-, or 12-month Wash Club membership, in store.

Never — Star Brite gift cards do not expire.

Can I use two gift cards for one transaction?

Only one gift card can be used per transaction, but you can merge two cards into one. Submit a merge request here, or stop by and a team member will help.

We’re sorry, but we’re unable to replace lost or stolen gift cards. We recommend treating your gift card like cash and keeping it somewhere safe.
